The International Council of Ayurvedic Medicine was founded by Dr. Ajit (BAMS), the most experienced Ayurvedic practitioner in the region to provide a voice for Ayurvedic practitioners in Australia. It was incorporated as a registered association in 2014.
The formation of the Association has come about to assist in developing and supporting consistent standards of ayurvedic practice throughout Australia. We propose to do this through the identification of recognised standards of practice, the promotion of Ayurveda as a reputable and effective health science, and the protection of members of the public from inappropriate practices. And for all this we need your support so have attached a membership application for your consideration.

Memberships

Level-1

An Ayurvedic Doctor with a recognised qualification of at least a 5 year University degree from a recognised institution approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) India and Sri Lanka.

Level-2

An Ayurvedic Practitioner – Individuals who have completed an Advanced Diploma in Ayurvedic Medicine from a Registered Training Organisation RTO (provided that this fulfils the criteria set by the association for an Ayurvedic Practitioner).

Level-3

Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant (Certificate IV or Diploma) – Individuals who have completed an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant Qualification (Cert IV or Diploma) from a Registered training Organisation (provided that this fulfils the criteria set by the association for an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant)

Level-4

  • Ayurvedic Associations from different countries (provided they fulfil and follow the standards set by
    the Association).
  • Ayurvedic Colleges/Institutions can be members of the association provided they offer their courses according to guidelines approved by the association’s Educational Committee.
  • Companies marketing Ayurvedic products in western countries.

 

Student Membership

Individuals currently studying for Ayurvedic qualifications that fulfil the criteria set by the association.
